New Bedford Fishermen's Tribute Monument

New Bedford, MA

Our goal is to create a modern day tribute to honor all men and women—past, present and future—within the fishing industry, especially those who have lost their lives in pursuit of their profession.

Fishermen, through their courage, dedication and sacrifice, have been the cornerstone of our community.

Creating a tribute to the fishermen of our community… past, present and future

For the past year, meetings have been held on creating a monument to honor fishermen lost at sea, as well as those who work hard everyday, and the ones that will follow the same path in the future. All of which help make New Bedford the #1 port in the country, and significantly boost the local economy.

Although our group is newly formed and making great strides, there is much work to be done. We have already received a prime piece of property at Fort Taber from the City of New Bedford, of which we are ever so grateful for.
